19 February 2019.....Dashing through the truck and other little things.

Things are just punnier all the timeπŸ˜‰. We have been working on the dash, it's not complete but, it looks good.

Some of the little things we have done, finished the core support, radiator, inter cooler, transmission cooling fan, headlights are in and wired, Fenders are on, doors are on and hardware attached, sound deadening is almost complete. I need to add two more panels to the roof/headliner. I say little stuff but, a lot of the work we had to fabricate, or make our own brackets maybe cut and trim. So much of the parts are for the cummins motor and not for the Ford body. I'll try to explain with the pictures.  I enlarged the pictures with the text on them so it would be easier to see.

Jeff and Jeremy looking things over

Jeff cutting and trimming the frame

George trimming the core support

Gas pedal and brake pedal added, both attached and working

Doors added

Radiator is in, now working on the transmission cooler

This was taken from the loft

Fenders are mocked up, need to set them and bolt them correctly

Basically all the brackets shown above were modified or fabricated for the this truck

The truck is really starting to take shape, there are a few major things to do. Hopefully We'll have more information soon with some major steps (like starting the motor) Adios

15 January 2019 Getting exhausted

πŸ˜πŸ’¦ What, another pun? Today George came over with pipes for the exhaust system. We talked about making a 5 inch exhaust system, that's almost 18 wheeler size. This is definitely a custom built exhaust system. Let's back up a bit first, before we could build the exhaust we had to get the shop wired for 220, which we did. Then we had to get the welder fixed and running, which we did (today).
We had to fabricate the pipe coming off the motor, since we were using a Cummins motor and a Ford body. That took some cutting, welding and fabricating. You will notice that there is no muffler or catalytic converter, it's just a straight 5" pipe. The down pipe is just behind the rear axle. Anyway I'm happy to say that WE, yes me too,  did the welding. Here are some pictures:

I need to heat wrap the exhaust to protect the frame and other parts from the heat from the exhaust.
